Food Manufacturer Modernizes its Business
A manufacturer of confectionary products purchased Salesforce.com to improve its control of the business. It was imperative that this new CRM solution, which is accessed by users over the Internet, be integrated with the company’s legacy business system, a commercial ERP application.
The Ceiba team implemented the solution using its Ceiba Data Integrator, a “middleware” tool that handles all aspects of transaction and data integration between applications, including those that operate over the Internet. Because the hosted software model is attractive to companies who would rather pay a small monthly fee rather than purchase more IT assets, this customer asked that the integration technology itself also be offered as a hosted service.
Since Ceiba Solutions is expert in managed services, this request was easily fulfilled. The project was managed using the Ceiba Agile Methodology, an ongoing collaborative process that insures a smooth transition to innovative improvements to the business.
Today, their new CRM software, as well as the technology that maps it to their in-house system, successfully operates as a “hosted” solution. The result reduces the stress on the IT department and costs are spread out over a period of time.
